Charlottesville, VA – A traumatic brain injury can happen to anyone in the blink of an eye. An out-of-control vehicle, a slippery sidewalk, or even a sports related accident, can turn a person’s whole world upside down.

According to the Brain Injury Association, more than 5 million Americans live with some form of disability that stems from a head injury. The impact on the survivor’s life and those who love them can be staggering.

For example, the first resident of Building a Bridge, Kenneth R., was a busy husband, father of three and a corporate executive when a horse riding accident changed his life forever. Mr. Rosen commented, “The Building a Bridge organization means a lot to me because it has given me an opportunity for a future. They are a lifesaver as well as a life giver.”

Building a Bridge was founded in Charlottesville by Heinz Kramp in 1991 to provide a family-like living environment for the full support of adults with traumatic brain injuries. Executive Director, Dr. Daniela Ghaida stated, “This van will be a great asset to Building a Bridge and its residents!”

State Farm and Master’s Auto Body look forward to presenting this vehicle to the Building a Bridge organization. We hope you will join us for this wonderful event!
